Samalkha Assembly (Vidhan Sabha) Constituency
The small town Samalkha is situated in the Panipat district. The Samalkha assembly constituency falls under Lok Sabha constituency of Karnal. Originally the town of Samalkha was occupied by Jat gotras of Kaliramana, Beniwal and Kuhar. Now the Jats who belong to other gotras have also inhabited Samalkha. The region is known for its iron industries. As of 2011 India census, Samalkha had a population of 3, 05,085 people. The current MLA from the town of Samalkha is Dharam Singh Chokker.
