Nagrota Assembly (Vidhan Sabha) Constituency
The town of Nagrota is situated in the Jammu district of Jammu & Kashmir. The region is the first stop for the pilgrimage of Mata Vaishno Devi. As of 2011, it had a population of 19,998 people. The Nagrota assembly constituency is a part of parliamentary constituency of Jammu. The seat of MLA has been occupied by the BJP. Jugal Kishore, candidate of BJP won the assembly elections of 2008 for the 2nd consecutive time. He was victorious over M.K Ajat Shatru Singh of JKNC. Kishore received 11141 votes over Singh’s 9521 votes.
