Shopian Assembly (Vidhan Sabha) Constituency
Shopian comes under the district with the same name and it is the administrative headquarters of the district. The population of the constituency is 12,396 according to the census of 2001 and it belongs to Anantnag parliamentary constituency. The present MLA of the constituency is Abdul Razaq Wagay who won the seat by defeating Mohd Shafi of INC with 8006 votes.
