Ramtek Assembly (Vidhan Sabha) Constituency
The city of Ramtek is situated in the Nagpur district of Maharashtra. According to spiritual belief, it is the place where Lord Rama resided during his exile. Famous writer Kalidasa wrote his Meghdootum in the hills of Ramtek. As of 2011 India census, the city of Ramtek had a population of 158,643 people. The Ramtek assembly constituency is a part of parliamentary constituency of Ramtek. Ashish Nandkishore Jaiswal, candidate of SHS won the assembly elections of 2009 for the 3rd consecutive time and is the current MLA. He was victorious over Mohite Subodh Baburao of the INC. Jaiswal recieved 49937 votes over Baburao’s 46576 votes.
