For the last consecutive 3 terms, Sheila Dikshit has remained the Delhi Chief Minister. The primary work done by the Indian National Congress Delhi Government has been in the field of information technology, healthcare, transportation and communication, enhancing education, infrastructural development and empowering women. The Delhi Indian National Congress has even been significant in transforming Delhi into a global city with world-class facilities and networks. The Indian National Congress has also promoted the cottage industries in Delhi by publicizing them in front of the international audience. The Delhi Congress started its internationally-acquitted ‘Bhagidari’ system in the State of Delhi by which the common people play a responsible role to play in the governance. The Delhi Congress Government’s democratic decentralization schemes and open administrative techniques are among the important contributions of the Congress party in Delhi. The Congress Delhi government has had the credit for successful organization of the Commonwealth Games hosted in Delhi. Sheila Dikshit was also awarded the “Best Chief Minister of India” in 2008 by the Journalist Association of India (JAI) and awarded the “Politician of the Year” award in 2009 by NDTV.
