Victory greeted the BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) in the Lok Sabha elections of 2014 in Jharkhand as they succeeded in winning 12 out of the total 14 seats and the JMM (Jharkhand Mukti Morcha) was able to grab the rest of the 2 seats. Since its separation from the State of Bihar and formation into an independent State, Jharkhand has been a politically active region with a large number of nation and regional parties, with the presence of many independent leaders as well. Issues faced by the State of Jharkhand

Underdevelopment and Instability: Before its formation into a separate State, the region of Jharkhand was famous for its developed modern education infrastructure. However, after its separation from the State of Bihar, Jharkhand has been unable to produce even one top notch education institutes.

Naxal Activities: The State of Jharkhand is among the 13 States of the country that are strongly influenced by the Naxals. 18 out of the total 24 districts in Jharkhand are under strong influence of the leftist rebels and the State has also been witness to the death of several innocent lives due to Maoists violence. Due to the vast poverty that has diseased the region, the Naxals have a large number of recruits that believe that they are fighting for the poor people.
