The state has a single parliamentary constituency with the same name. None of the seat is reserved for SC or ST candidates.

There are a total of 3,62,326 registered voters. Out of which, 11,715 are first time voters. The number of polling stations in the state is 538.

Sikkim is said to be the second lowest populated state in India with a total population of 6,10,577. There is a fall in population growth in the last decade by 12.89%. Sikkim constitutes just 0.05% of the total population in India. The gender ratio is 890 females per 1000 males. The literacy rate stands at 81.42% which is high.
