Elections in Andhra Pradesh – 2014 Results
Andhra Pradesh is a state situated in the southern part of India. The natives of Andhra Pradesh speak Telugu language. General elections were conducted in the state for the first time in 1956 for around 249 constituencies. In the year 1958, the state was declared as bicameral and it remained in the state till 1985. It was then again declared as unicameral in 2007. Till today, around 15 Lok Sabha elections have been held in the state.

Andhra Pradesh elections
When we look back into the election history of Andhra Pradesh, we can see that most of the times Congress party has come to power. In 1983 NT Rama Rao known as NTR formed a party called Telugu Desham Party (TDP) which came to power soon but came down due to division. Later after some years this party came to power in 1984. After that again Congress party came to power in 1989 and completed its term successfully.
Later the command of the party was handed over to Chandrababu Naidu who was the son in law of NTR. NTR died in 1996 leaving the responsibility of the party in the hands of his wife and son in law. Chandrababu Naidu became chief minister and remained on the post for 9 years till 2004 till he was defeated by Congress in the elections.

YSR Reddy became the chief minister of the state. Konigeti Rosaian became the next chief minister when YSR died in a helicopter crash. After that Nallari Kiran Kumar Reddy came to power and became the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh.
Administration process
Andhra Pradesh is a state situated in the southern part of India. Telugu is the local language of the state. The state has bicameral Legislature comprising of Vidhan Sabha, the lower House and Vidhan Parishad, the Upper House. There are 294 seats in the Lower House and 90 seats in the upper House. Andhra Pradesh contributes 42 seats to Lok Sabha and 18 seats to Rajya Sabha.

There are 294 seats in the Legislative Assembly of Andhra Pradesh. The party which wins majority of the seats gets the chance to form the government. Andhra Pradesh has Legislative Council which comprises of 90 seats. The members of the Legislative Council are elected by the members of the Assembly.
