Parliamentary constituencies of Delhi

 

There are 7 parliamentary constituencies in the National Capital Territory of Delhi. Out of which the north west Delhi is the only one reserved for Scheduled Caste candidates.

Totally there are 1,20,60,493 voters in the National Capital Territory of Delhi forming about 66.98% of the total population. In this about 2,26,833 are first time voters. The gender ratio in the nation’s capital is very low with only 868 female voters per 1000 male voters. There are 13 overseas electors as well.

The total population of Delhi is 1,63,14,838 which makes it the most populated cities in India. The literacy rate is slightly higher than the national average which is 86.43%.

The most interesting fact about the National Capital Territory of Delhi in the political scenario is the emergence of AAP .Though short-lived, it formed the government in its very first election.
