Elections in Tripura – 2014 Results

Tripura is a small state situated in the north eastern state of India. It was an union territory earlier but was later declared as a state in 1972. The general elections will take place in two phases on 7th April and 12th April. The state has two parliamentary constituencies and elections will be held for the same.

Administration Process

The administration of the state is carried out by the chief minister and his council of ministers. The constitutional head of the state is Governor and he is appointed by the President of India. The Legislature is unicameral and has Legislative Assembly. There are 60 seats in the assembly. The term of Assembly is five years.
