Election Commission of Arunachal Pradesh

Arunachal Pradesh was split from Assam for the smooth administration of the country. It is sparsely populated state with less number of seats. It has got an Election Commission which has started to work from the year 2001. It is an autonomous body which works under the Election Commission.
 
Arunachal Pradesh was formerly a part of Assam and was ruled by the rulers of Assam. Later it got separated from it and formed the North-East Frontier Tract. Arunachal Pradesh got its first State Election Commission in the year 2001. This body is responsible for carrying out elections smoothly in the state.
