President of India

The president is elected by the members of the both the Houses of the Parliament and State Legislature. Any Indian City above the age of 35 years is eligible. The term of President of India is five years but a reelection is conducted if the President resigns or dies before the completion of his term. Moreover he should be a part of any of the both Houses of the Parliament or should not hold any office of profit. The vice president, as well as ministers of all the state and Union Territories are eligible for contesting for the post of president. In normal case vice president becomes the president of India by the support of members of both the Houses of Parliament.
