Khamgaon Assembly (Vidhan Sabha) Constituency

A city in the Buldana district of Maharashtra State, Khamgaon is also referred to as Rajat Nagari the meaning of which is ‘Town of Silver’. Khamgaon is one of the district’s leading developing cities. As of 2011 India census, the city of Khamgaon had a total population of 320,644 people. The Khamgaon assembly constituency belongs to parliamentary constituency of Buldhana. The MLA seat has been occupied by the INC since the year 1999. Sananda Dilipkumar Gokulchand, candidate of INC was victorious in the 2009 assembly elections for the third time consecutively. He was victorious over Khandare Dhondiram Sonaji, candidate of BJP. Gokulchand received 64051 votes over Sonaji who received 56131 votes.
