Savner Assembly (Vidhan Sabha) Constituency

The town of Savner situated in Nagpur district of Maharashtra. The town is well known for its coal mines, textile and paper industry. As of the 2011 India census, Savner had a population of 229,450 people. The Savner assembly constituency falls under parliamentary constituency of Ramtek. Kedar Sunil Chhatrapal, candidate of INC won the assembly elections 2009 for the second consecutive time and is the current MLA. He won the assembly elections of 2002 as an independent candidate. Chhatrapal was victorious over Deshmukh Ashish Ranjit of BJP in the assembly elections of 2009. He received 82452 votes over Ranjit’s 78980 votes.
