Jama Assembly (Vidhan Sabha) Constituency
Reserved for the people belonging to Scheduled Tribes, the Jama assembly constituency has been acquired by JMM. Sita Soren won the 2009 assembly elections by defeating Manoj Kumar Singh, candidate of BJP by a huge margin. Soren received 38550 votes over Singh’s 25844 votes. Situated in the Dumka district of Jharkhand, the Jama assembly constituency belongs to the parliamentary constituency of Dumka. As per 2011 Census, the city had a population of 137,963 people.
