R. S. Pura Assembly (Vidhan Sabha) Constituency
The town Ranbir Singh Pura comes in Jammu district and has majority of its population following dairy farming and agriculture. The population of the constituency is 13,563 according to the census of 2001 and it belongs to Jammu parliamentary constituency. The constituency is reserved for the Scheduled Caste candidate. The present MLA of the constituency is BJP leader Prof Gharu Ram Bhagat who won the seat in 2008 assembly elections with 15902 votes against Suman Lata Bhagat who managed to get 14272 votes.
