Anantnag Assembly (Vidhan Sabha) Constituency
Anantnag which is considered as the commercial capital of Kashmir is part of the district with same name. The population of the constituency is 1.1 lakhs according to the census of 2011. Anantnag which is called as ‘City of Export’ belongs to the Anantnag parliamentary constituency. The present MLA of the constituency is Mufti Mohamad Sayeed who won the seat in 2008 assembly elections. He won the seat with 12439 votes by defeating Mirza Mehboob Beigh of JKNC who had managed to get 7548 votes.
